RCG Update for 2011 - Taking "Pride in the Portfolio"
& finally accepting new clients!
|
|
A message from RCG Principal Consultant Leon Roomberg:
It has been a fulfilling four years serving ALC first as a consultant through MicroData Systems (MDS), then as ALC's executive in charge of technology projects. During this time I worked with our CFO to initiate, fund, and manage 26 projects with total expenditures of just under $6,000,000.
Supported by a wonderful team of professionals who demonstrated both competence and dedication, we completed 25 of those projects on time, within budget, and according to specifications.
That amounts to a 96% success rate. Even more impressive is that as the one cancelled project was for a small amount of money, that 99.2% of project funds were determined to be successfully managed.
I could not have asked for a better team and would welcome future opportunities to work with them again. Including infrastructure, database, and application development, the projects touched on almost every area of business technology. Click here for descriptions of each of those completed projects.
And now? My immediate focus is on advising MDS team members on projects underway at MDS clients in Northern New Jersey and New York City. At the same time, I am open to evaluate new medium and longer term project and technology management opportunities, but only in Southern New Jersey or Center City Philadelphia. In addition, my volunteer and academic interests limit opportunities to those requiring 40% or less of overnight travel.
Services can be provided as an employee, consultant, or on a corp-to-corp basis. RCG has operated as a corporation since 1991. Follow me on LinkedIn to review outstanding references. My resume can be found under my portrait at the right.
Feel free to call me at 609.238.4625 to discuss your project and technology management requirements!

RCG Update for
2010
|
|
In
my role as RCG
Principal, I continue my service to ALC and sister
companies as their CIO. As of this writing, the ALC Information
Technology team continues upgrading ALC's communications, applications,
and reporting infrastructure. The bottom line results after
implementing VOIP telephony and new versions of Oracle and IBM Domino
Communication Services have been the achievement of record levels
of service quality and efficiency. The focus in the coming
year will be the continued automation of production systems. The
DataCentrix Service Bureau team continues to expand, boasting new
clients, new services, and four quarters of growth. Customer
Acquisition Profiling and Modeling based on Marketing Database Systems
continue to be growth areas. The Empathy Lab support team
has replaced and/or upgraded key network, server, and application
infrastructure while meeting service level goals of minimizing downtime
during upgrades. This has been a great year despite the challenges
of the overall economy. More information

RCG Update for
September, 2009
|
|
In
my role as RCG
Principal, I have accepted an expanded role at ALC. While
still leading the Information System Groups responsible for direct
marketing systems development, operations, and support, I now
also lead the DataCentrix Service Bureau Unit of ALC. In
the months to come, ALC & ALC/DataCentrix customers will benefit
from an increasingly database-focused set of data processing tools
and online analytical capabilities. The breadth and depth
of services should improve as should processing response times.
Customer will also benefit as ITG and Data Centrix staffs
are cross-trained and work together in the development of
newer products. Commenting on the changes, Leon
observed, "We have gathered the critical mass of highly skilled
individuals necessary to give our clients tools that increase their
profitability while controlling customer acquisition costs. These
tools translate our vision into a series of services that cut the
cost and times involved in developing marketing insights and converting
those insights into customer acquisition actions."
"Our mission is to build on the values
and competencies of other industry leaders who have devoted their
careers to defining our goals and the metrics used to judge our
progress toward those goals. Inside the company, Donn Rappaport,
Susan Rappaport, Peter DeRosa, Britt Vatne, Mary Anne Buoncristiano,
Lori Magill Cook, Laurie Cole, and Fran Green have all contributed
to meetings that resulted in refining our vision."
"Outside of the company, I am thankful
to those that mentored my experiences in this industry. They
provided me with a toolset that is visionary, practical, and ethical.
I take the words and stories told to me by industry leaders
like Bill Korn, Lou Krassen, Gary Kinzel, and Beryl Wolk, and
repeat them endlessly to the team to help inspire and guide
us."
